Ask me anything   Bette Bashwinger is my mother who was a great inspiration to me. She was the driving force behind my creativity and ultimately my career. She encouraged me to push the limits of my visions and artistic ability. She was a wonderful artist who had an incredible passion for fashion, art, and photography. She was hip and stylish and always danced to the beat of her own drum. I look back and often wonder what my mother saw in me that she didn't with my siblings. Why did she steer me to this path? I often think about her when I design. I guess part of her lives in every design I create. I will always cherish the private art lessons, the photo shoots, and the wonderful business advice she gave me.

Hosta ( /ˈhɒstə/,[1] syn.: Funkia) is a genus of about 23–45 species of lily-like plants in the family Asparagaceae, subfamily Agavoideae,[2] native to northeast Asia. They have been placed in their own family, Hostaceae (or Funkiaceae); like many ‘lilioid monocots’, they were once classified in the Liliaceae Photographed by Valerie McNichols, IOBette
